Adobe Internship : Exploring VR/AR application in Marketing Space

The purpose of this case-study is exploring the possible applications of Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality (AR/VR) and Internet of Things (IOT) within the space of digital marketing, and exploring how Adobe Target can play role within these exploration.

Design Brief

Adobe Marketing Cloud is a collection of integrated online marketing and Web analytics products by Adobe. Adobe Target, part of one of the eight solutions in the Adobe Marketing Cloud, is a tool for testing and targeting digital experiences. It allows marketers to visually manipulate and customize web experiences, target and test them for difference audiences, understand the most successful content and deliver personalized experiences. This internship aimed to work on two objectives


Part I : Exploring AR/VR, IOT applications in digital marketing space

Exploring the possible applications of Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality (AR/VR) and Internet of Things (IOT) within the space of digital marketing, and exploring how Adobe Target can play role within these exploration.

With the upcoming technologies like Virtual realities and Internet of things, Data has become a very important possession. With Virtual reality and augmented reality devices, more interactive content can be served to user in accordance with the context. Internet of things technology getting common these days, marketers have gained access to live information from these devices. With context information, very relevant online marketing can be achieved.

Coincidently, Pokemon Go Smart-phone game hit the market, when I was conducting this research. I got chance to work on a small case study to speculate the possible ways augmented reality can be used for digital marketing and what kind of role Adobe Marketing cloud, adobe target can play in it.

I studied personas of digital marketers, gamers and users. The whole case study is represented in the form story.
